In 2016, DHM Research conducted a telephone survey to ask Oregon voters how much of every dollar the state spends is wasted. On average, voters said that our state government wastes about 44 cents of every dollar. This month, we asked our panel of Oregon residents a follow-up question: Does “government waste” (a term we hear quite often) mean money spent inefficiently or money spent on unnecessary programs?
