As Research Associate with DHM, Eddie Szamborski manages qualitative and quantitative research projects from start to finish—from research design to final analysis. He also supports multi-phase research projects, leads focus group coordination, and works on initiatives such as DHM’s internship program and equity trainings for the firm’s employees.
Eddie specializes in qualitative and online survey research with hard-to-reach populations such as communities of color, students, and small business owners. Passionate about recognizing diverse communities’ lived experiences when designing, conducting, and analyzing research, Eddie believes that thoughtful research can help inform policy and decision making by bringing to light long-ignored perspectives and voices. In the past, Eddie has led research to identify barriers to success for the Black business community and coordinated focus groups across the state with youth of many backgrounds to inform a public awareness campaign about cannabis.
Eddie holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a correlate sequence in Urban Studies from Vassar College. Eddie is a regular volunteer and school ambassador at non-profit and charter school KairosPDX. He finds joy in writing, cooking, reading, eating, and building community.
